THIS year’s BBC Proms in the Park is taking place on Saturday, September 9 from the grounds of National Trust property, Castle Coole, in Enniskillen.

To create a musical atmosphere in the lead-up to the BBC event, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, the National Trust, Fermanagh Lakeland Tourism, Enniskillen Business Improvement District (BID) and Waterways Ireland have organised a number of pre-Proms activities in and around Enniskillen.

This coming weekend look out for operatic singers Drawing Room Opera when they perform on Saturday in the Diamond at 12.30pm and Enniskillen Castle Museum at 3pm.

On Sunday, they will play at the Round O Park at 1.30pm and later that afternoon in Castle Coole at 3pm.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Bands Programme at the Round O Park features Fermanagh Concert Band this Sunday and Ballyreagh Silver Band on Sunday, August 27 between 2.30pm and 4pm.

Castle Coole will host summer music sessions throughout August which includes performances from Oisin McManus on Thursdays prior to afternoon tours and each Saturday between 10.30am and 11am.

Enjoy easy listening blues band Below the Line this Sunday and Arco String Quartet play on Sunday, August 27 between 2pm and 4pm.

Normal Castle Coole admission prices apply.

The partner group of organisations hope that the musical performances will provide a welcoming sound for local audiences and visitors to the area in the build-up to BBC Proms in the Park.
