SIGNAGE directed at Quinn Industrial Holdings, the group that took over certain manufacturing operations of the former Quinn Group, have appeared in Derrylin and Ballyconnell.
The four signs make a number of claims about jobs in the area and were spotted near the company’s cement factory yesterday (Wednesday).
Sean Quinn, who founded the multi billion euro empire but lost it after a failed financial bet on Anglo Irish Bank shares, left the company last May, one year after he was hired as a consultant.
Mr. Qunn recently launched a new betting website, the first new business he has invested in since he emerged from bankruptcy more than two years ago.
Yesterday Erne West Councillor Bernice Swift told this newspaper: “I have not been contacted by anyone directly on this matter and feel it is up to the Quinn management and Quinn family to have their own discussions on what is best for the business to continue to prosper, sustain and further benefit the interests of all employed and living in this Border area.”

In a statement, a spokesman for Quinn Industrial Holdings said: "“This type of behaviour will not distract us from continuing to grow the business and sustainable local employment."
The Quinn family were contacted yesterday and asked to comment but had responded before this newspaper went to press.
