A group of Fermanagh women have been eating well and dropping the pounds for local Action Mental Health services including its dedicated youth programmes.
Members of Weight Watchers in Fermanagh raised just over £230 for their collective body weight shed - all in aid of New Horizons Fermanagh and its Boost Programme.
Aimed at 16 to 25 year olds concerned about their mental and emotional wellbeing, the AMH Boost Programme provides positive steps and personal development to help young people get back on track.
The programme combines training, personal development and fun activities to help build resilience and promote positive coping techniques, improve confidence and make new friends. Boost staff support young people to take positive steps for the future and provides opportunities to develop life skills to enable them to achieve their goals.
Sean Connolly, AMH Client Development Co-ordinator with New Horizons Fermanagh, was delighted to receive the donation.
“We are very grateful to receive the sum of £231. 36 from our generous friends in Weight Watchers,” he said.
“The money will go toward the many projects within New Horizons Fermanagh as well as to the Boost programme, which is delivered here, in a relaxed youth setting where young people experiencing mental health issues benefit from sharing their journeys with others overcoming similar challenges.”
This project is part-funded through the Northern Ireland European Social Fund Programme 2014 to 2020 and the Department for the Economy.
