RESIDENTS in Lisbellaw fear a row of trees are going to “come down on top of the houses” according to Democratic Unionist Councillor Keith Elliott.
He told last week’s meeting of Fermanagh and Omagh District C ouncil that the row of trees at Queens Park in the village “have grown out of all proportion.”
“They don’t belong to the Housing Executive, don’t belong to Roads service, don’t belong to the Council, they are not registered to anyone.
“Who is responsible for these trees? There are concerns should one of these trees fall there is possibility for danger.”
Director of Environment and Place Kevin O’Gara told the meeting that Roads Service “should be serving notice on the land owner.”
“Nobody owns the trees,” replied Councillor Elliott.
“Can I propose that the Council looks at this and does the work before someone is injured?”
