St Patrick’s Day Parade and Fun Day returns to Enniskillen on Saturday, March 17.
The streets of our county town will be transformed with colour and fun as this year’s theme is ‘Pages Thru the Ages’.
The fun starts at the Broadmeadow with a free family fun day and a host of live entertainment acts starting at 1.30pm. Participants can enjoy a range of free activities including bouncy castles, face painting and wandering mascots or enjoy free tasty treats with chocolate fountains, green candy floss and Lilley’s famous themed gelato.
For those wishing to grab a prime viewing position there will be live music, pre parade on the Diamond in Enniskillen town centre, by Full Moon Fever from 1.30pm as well as walkabout characters to keep you entertained. There are plans to broadcast audio coverage of the Rugby. Take time too, to view the entries to our children’s ‘Design a Bookmark’ competition, sponsored by Ecclesville Printing Services which will be on display in the British Legion Hall. The winner will have their design printed and distributed to 3,000 children from participating schools.
Supported by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Enniskillen BID and local businesses, this year’s spectacular parade is one not to be missed. Kicking off at 3.30pm the parade features a processional sculpture, floats, vintage vehicles, acrobatics, live music and much, much more. For safety considerations a decision has been made not to have water activities because of the current low temperatures and therefore expected high water levels. Extra activities will take place at the Broadmeadow to compensate.
Also this year Downtown Country will be the Official Media Partner. Downtown Country will be in Enniskillen for two hours on St Patrick’s Day playing music, games and doing giveaways with the crowd. A popular Downtown Country presenter will also be along to host the activity and Downtown Country ‘street team’ will be on hand to take photos, interact with the crowd and hand out promotional merchandise.
