A DRUNK university student who called police “a pack of gypsy b*****ds” during a night out in Enniskillen has been fined £150.
Jamie Maguire (22), of Killyfuddy Road, Trillick, pleaded guilty to using disorderly behaviour in a public place, namely The Diamond, Enniskillen, on December 27, 2017.
Fermanagh Magistrates Court heard that, at 2.10am, the defendant approached police on duty at The Diamond and shouted: “You’re all a pack of gypsy b*****ds.”
Defending solicitor, Sean McHugh, told the court that his client was a university student in Manchester who had returned home to attend the hearing.
Mr. McHugh said that, on the night in question, the defendant had been out with his brother and friends and consumed a “substantial amount” of alcohol.
He had “little or no recollection” of the incident and wished to convey his apologies, the solicitor added. District judge, Nigel Broderick, also imposed a £15 offender levy.
