BROOKEBOROUGH teen, Shannon Kildea will be undergoing a ‘big chop’ for charity at the end of the month

The 16-year-old will be donating 12 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust to make another little child smile just as much as her.
Shannon has been growing her hair now since she was in P7 at primary school.

Now studying for her GCSEs at St Kevin’s College, Lisnaskea, she has finally decided to bite the bullet and get it all chopped off.

The daughter of Stephen and Maggie Kildea, and sister of Conán, a first year at St Michael’s College Enniskillen, has been described by her family as a caring and thoughtful person who volunteers her spare time on a Friday evening at the Carrosyl Community Centre in Lisnaskea, helping to look after P5 to P7 children.

She also helps out on a Saturday morning with Orchard Farm Football Club under 10s and is currently doing the Pope John Paul Award II.
The ‘big chop’ will take place next Friday, April 27 which also happens to be ‘Donate Your Hair Day’.

The Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown, where Shannon works part-time, has kindly offered to host the event and Leanna from SB Hair, Fivemiletown, will be cutting Shannon’s hair.

The event is organised to start at 7pm and will include a Dutch auction and a raffle with lots of prizes donated by business from Clogher, Fivemiletown, Lisnaskea and Enniskillen.
