A WOMAN was rescued from a house fire in Enniskillen in the early hours of Saturday morning after she was spotted shouting for help from a bedroom window.
Firefighters from Enniskillen, Irvinestown and Lisnaskea arrived at the terraced house in Erne Drive at about 2am where they spent over an hour extinguishing the “small fire” in the living room.
A spokeswoman for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) told this newspaper that the woman was taken to hospital by ambulance after suffering from smoke inhalation.
It’s understood smoke alarms alerted the occupier to the fire which is being treated as “accidental.”
Meanwhile, three people escaped without injury after a fire at a detached bungalow in the Junction Road area of Irvinestown in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Two appliances from Irvinestown and Enniskillen attended the scene.
The fire, reported at about 5am, was “accidental”, said a NIFRS spokeswoman.
“Three people were out of the house on arrival of firefighters and didn’t require medical attention.
“Firefighters fitted a smoke alarm in the property,” she said.
