A new interactive theatre production is coming to Enniskillen this weekend in the form of ‘Operation Elsewhere,’ from Big Telly Theatre Company.
Described as a ‘treasure hunt with a difference,’ participants will meet at The Diamond before being taken on a journey by professional actors across eight locations of Enniskillen to complete their quest.
As participants explore the unique shops, cafes, alleys and public spaces of the town, they will encounter a range of otherworldly characters, weird and wonderful installations and undertake tasks to uncover the mysterious myths of Tír na n’Og.
The part game, part immersive theatre performances will take place throughout the day on Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11 from 12.30pm to 4.15pm, with time slots available at 15 minute intervals.
The event is suitable for children from the age of eight, youth groups, summer schemes and anyone looking for an afternoon of adventure.
Participants will form small teams to navigate the town for this hour-long extravaganza, which will incorporate unsuspecting shoppers, tourists, traders and people of Enniskillen, blurring the lines between reality and fiction whilst bringing people of the town together for a completely unique entertainment experience.
One of the event organisers, Noelle McAloon of Enniskillen BID, said: “Because it is a type of spy game we can’t give away too much which adds to the excitement!
“We have been working with Big Telly Company from Portstewart on this and they have been amazing as they are professional but completely immerse themselves in the story.”
So why not embrace your inner spy and join in with what is promised to be an extraordinary adventure full of mystery, myth, madness – and great craic! Tickets for ‘Operation Elsewhere Enniskillen’ are available from The Ardhowen Box Office. Those taking part are asked to dress appropriately for this outdoor quest.
