A family of four who died in a house fire in Derrylin six months ago have had their remains cremated and brought to Scotland, The Impartial Reporter can reveal.
45-year-old Denise Gossett and her two children; 16-year-old son Roman Gosset and 19-year-old daughter Sabrina, along with her 16-month-old daughter Morgana Quinn, died in the blaze in the early hours of February 27.
It’s understood the deceased’s relatives had been experiencing “financial challenges” following the tragedy.
However, a source told The Impartial Reporter yesterday (Wednesday) that their ashes were taken to family members in Scotland “a number of weeks ago.”
Representatives of the family had been “privately” liaising with Fermanagh-south Tyrone MLA Arlene Foster in a bid to “minimise a financial burden.”
Mrs. Foster’s office would not comment when contacted yesterday describing it as a “private matter.”
A memorial service was held in Derrylin a month after after the tragedy as members of the Gossett family travelled from England to attend.
At the time the family told this newspaper that their loss was “immeasurable.”
