The 71st Belcoo Sports and Festival took place from August 10-15. The family event thrilling all ages with something for everybody on offer.

The festival kicked off with a 'Movie Night' for the kids while the Skittles competition took place in the Cottage Meadow.

'The Prince of Irish Country' John Hogan provided the music in the Marquee to bring the first night to a close.

It was an early start on the Saturday as the Cottage Meadow was busy with a Car Boot Sale with people looking for a bargain.

The first ever Belcoo Festival Mud Run took place around the Meadow and on the shores of Lough MacNean as men, women and children went through the mud, water and who knows what else to make their way to the finish line.

Esther Janzen, Usna McErlane and Micki Jonas all hit the right notes during the Traditional music session at the Bandstand.

It was then down to the river for the children's fishing competition which was won by Holly Kearns with a catch weighing in at over 2lbs.

Jiving was the dance of choice that night as Glór Tire finalist Conor O'Donnell led the crowd along at 'Jive in the Meadow'.

Bingo and the traditional Car Treasure Hunt took place on Sunday before there was plenty of laughs as DJ Shorty presented Belcoo's very own Mr & Mrs gameshow which was guaranteed to cause a few arguments among the couples.

Monday and Tuesday saw a range of activities planned including an activity day in Corralea Waterpark, the children's Treasure Hunt and Tractor Run.

The Community Challenge put neighbour against neighbour on Monday evening before brains were put into action that night at the table quiz.

The final day of the Festival saw Hugo Duncan roll into town to present his BBC Radio show live from the village.

The Fancy Dress Parade kicked things off and then it was down to the Meadow where there was plenty to see and do.

From crazy golf to sheep shearing, bouncy castles to tractor reversing there was something for everyone.

And back by popular demand, Tommy Owens performed in the marquee to bring the curtain down on a hugely entertaining six days.
