It is believed the victims of a road crash in Bundoran last night that has left two young people dead were from the County Fermanagh area.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with a road crash in Co Donegal this morning which left two people dead and four others seriously injured.

The crash happened at East End in Bundoran at around 3.25am this morning.

A man and woman, both in their 20s, died when the blue Peugeot 306 car they were travelling in hit a wall.

Another woman in her 20s is in a critical condition, while three other men, also in their 20s, suffered serious injuries following the crash.

All were brought to Sligo General Hospital, more than 40km away.

The incident happened close to a dangerous bend in a built-up part of the East End area of the town.

Fire Service personnel and gardaí were quickly at the scene and the injured were rushed to Sligo University Hospital, 40km away.

Gardaí are investigating the crash and the road is currently closed.
