As the Enniskillen Campus of CAFRE held its annual prize day this week, a number of students on equine courses have been awarded bursaries.
Megan McGrory, a first year BSc student in Equine Management at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus, from Lisnaskea, has been awarded the Coolmore Bursary of £1,000. Megan obtained this bursary for achieving the top mark in the BSc1 Breeding and Stud Assignment. Megan completed a written report evaluating mare selection and management of the mares at CAFRE Enniskillen Equine Breeding Unit.
Megan has completed the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management and also had the opportunity to extend her knowledge and experience of the thoroughbred sector by completing the optional Horse Racing Industry module.
Another student, Ciara Smith, Co Cavan received a £500 bursary from Sam Smyth, Northern Ireland Horse Board.
Students who completed their courses received their awards at a ceremony at the Campus yesterday(Wednesday).
