Golf course cadetship launched at college for students

The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE), in association with the Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI), recently launched the Greenkeeping Cadetship programme, at the opening of the new Greenkeeping and Golf Academy.

The Greenkeeping Cadetship programme, which will be delivered at Greenmount Campus, is aimed at young people aged 16 to 25 who have a keen interest in developing a career in greenkeeping. The GUI is supporting two students per year to undertake this programme, with a generous financial bursary of £7,500 each.

The Greenkeeping Cadetship programme will run from 1 September to 31 August each year. Successful candidates must have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or higher including Mathematics and English, as well as relevant practical experience.
