The top young farmers' club in Fermanagh, Lisbellaw YFC celebrated a highly successful year with their annual dinner.
The event in the Carry Bridge Hotel, Lisbellaw, was attended by the guest speaker James Taylor, YFCU Vice president and Chairman of the YFCU Agri Affairs committee. He told members how proud he was speaking to the club and how good it was to see so many familiar faces at competitions.
He told the members of the importance of getting involved in as many activities as possible and the friendships that are made. He said public speaking was a skill that they could take all the way through life. He spoke about the YFCU exchange programme and encouraged the seniors to look at this as something to aim towards and that a number of the club were well capable of securing some of the places.
The Club Leader, Jayne Little in her speech highlighted some of the successes of the club during the year. Two members represented the county at the Balmoral Show for the tractor driving while Andrew Little won the N.I.14-16 Beef stock judging.
The Club held its annual Beach Party and 16 new members joined the club when it re-opened in the Autumn. At the county dinner, the Club won the Top Club Award in the county and Trevor Wilson was named Top senior male young farmer in the county.
The Club awards were presented by Trevor Wilson, Club Secretary and James Taylor, YFCU Vice President.
