The 2010 staging of Fermanagh County Show was launched by Fermanagh Farming Society at Belle Isle Castle on Tuesday hosted by Charles and Fiona Plunkett.

The picturesque venue proved to be an ideal setting for the Chairman, Lord Anthony Hamilton and the Show Committee to welcome sponsors and friends of the show and thank them for their support for the event. The Chairman gave an outline of this years show and was presented with The Knox Memorial Cup for the best Greyface Sheep in the show kindly donated by Mrs Cecil Knox in memory of her late husband, Cecil, who served for many years on the Show Committee.

The guest speaker was Mr Brian Donaldson, Deputy Editor and Farming Editor of The Impartial Reporter who gave very positive words of encouragement to the Show and the agricultural industry as a whole, commenting that we are in the middle of an agri-food revolution which will help to sustain the economy in the years to come. He went on to say that new local food producers are to be encouraged and supported and that the Show is playing its part in raising the profile of this sector.

This year's show takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 3 and 4 and hosts a wide range of Livestock, Home Industry, Pet and Schools Classes along with The Local Food Festival supported by Fivemiletown Creamery and the Northern Ireland Regional Food Programme which has been developed and extended further for 2010. There are also numerous trade stands and attractions to cater for all members of the family including a Donkey Derby and Dog Show.
