Although the Clogher Valley Show only opens to the public for one day, the Show organisers host a reception on the Tuesday evening, July 27 for judges and local food retailers as it also features the launch of the Augher Co-op Food Hall. Such is the interest in local food development that all space in the Hall is now filled to capacity.

The guest speaker at the event will be Mr. John Thompson, President of the Ulster Farmers' Union.

During the Show Day, food promotion in the Food Hall will be very much evident with Paula McIntyre, the chef from BBC Radio Ulster's Saturday morning magazine programme, in attendance. Her expertise and easy manner is expected to be a great attraction and she will be assisted in cooking tasty dishes by students from three secondary schools in the Clogher Valley. Paula has been invited in associationi with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development's Regional Food Programme.

Products exhibited in the Food Hall will include a wide selection such as specialist meats, cakes and jams, cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables.

Judges travelling from around Great Britain and the Republic will get an opportunity at this event to sample the best of food from the Clogher Valley region which is marketed by long established and new food companies.
