Young farmers begin new year

Young Farmers’ Clubs around the county begin their new season this month with a wide range of activities planned for existing and new members.

One of the first to get underway will be Kesh next Monday.

Kesh YFC

Kesh Young Farmers’ Club start their meetings on Monday, September 6 after a busy summer break.

They are inviting all current members back again and extend a warm welcome to new members. The YFCU is open to anyone aged between 12 and 25 years old.

A fun packed year has been planned, with everything from go-karting to cinema outings as well as activities based in the Club Hall. The Club also participates in public speaking, swimming competitions, floral art, stockjudging and build it competitions. Meetings are held every other Monday night in the YFC Hall, Kesh at 8pm.

Lisbellaw YFC

Members of Lisbellaw YFC have been keeping themselves busy over the summer months, attending the local agricultural shows, taking part in various YFCU competitions and turning up at the odd YFC BBQ and dances around the country.

With the summer nearing an end, Lisbellaw will kick off the 2010/2011 season with an introductory night and games night in Belle Isle Hall on Tuesday, September 14 at 8.15pm. Meetings are held every second and fourthTuesday in the month.

New members are always welcome so do come along and be part of one of the best clubs in Fermanagh. A fun filed programme has been arranged for the year.

Derrygonnelly YFC

Derrygonnelly and Churchhill Young Farmers Club start their winter programme on Monday, September 20.

This new packed programme for the season is expected to get young people interested and includes a games night, flower power night, table quiz, meals on wheels, cinema, football night and much more

Derrygonnelly is a young and dynamic club with 25 members. One of its members, Becky Brunt won the Fermanagh Show Princess recently.

The club is held on the first and second Monday of each month in Derrygonnelly Hall. For more information contact the Club Leader, Stephen Ferguson on 07805871064.
