Farmers have been urged to comply with the deadline for return of Single Farm Payment application forms which is Monday next, May 16.

The Department of Agricultura and Rural Development and farming organisations have been working with farmers in recent weeks clarifying some of the rules governing this year's application forms.

Land eligibility is a major issue this year.

John Mohan, Chairman of NIAPPA in Fermanagh, has reminded landowners said his organisation has had many queries from farmers over this year's forms which are much slower to complete.

He said farmers were nervous about completing the forms this year.

He also reported that some farmers have not yet received their 2010 SFP money owing to queries over inspections or maps.

One farmer in the county who ran a 200-cow suckler herd, was still awaiting his money. John says this disrupts cashflow on farms.

He has urged the Department to ensure all farmers were paid and said that an advance payment should be made so that farmers had better financial planning.
