A local student is among several others helping to launch a new innovative food product.

David Giboney from Fivemiletown, who is on an industrial placement from his studies at Loughry Campus, is one of three Loughry food students helping one of the UK's leading manufacturers launch the new product.

Avondale Foods, Craigavon supplies bagged salads, side salads, vegetable accompaniments, soups, sauces and dips to retail and foodservice customers throughout Britain and Ireland. Under a retailers own label, Avondale have designed and are supplying an exciting ready to cook meal kit, sold right across Great Britain.

According to Loughry staff, having an industrial placement is all part of the Loughry experience. Students on all programmes from National Diploma to Degree level have the opportunity to get a taste for an exciting career in the industry. These three students, based in Avondale's satellite production unit at the Food Business Incubation Centre adjacent to Loughry Campus, are fulfilling important production and technical roles.

If a "tasty" career interests you, you can visit http://www.cafre.ac.uk for more information.
