Top leaders and clubs announced in young farmers 'oscars'
Prizewinners Laura Mayers, Jayne Little, Gavin Rogers, Zara and Alice Stubbs at the County Fermanagh YFC in the Lough Erne Hotel in Kesh.
Fermanagh young farmers have been celebrating a year of success while at the same time marking the important contribution they made to local communities.
At the annual dinner of Fermanagh YFC County Committee in the Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh, members from the various clubs came together to share in the awards which included individual and club awards.
The club efficiency awards announced by judges, Ruth Blackburn and Gillian Wilson, saw Lisbellaw YFC win the top club title once again. In second place was Kesh and Lisnaskea in third.
In terms of individual club efficiency awards, the top Club Leader title went to Jayne Little of Lisbellaw with Stephen Ferguson, Derrygonnelly in second place and Clarke Wilson, Lisnaskea in third.
The top secretary award went to another Lisbellaw YFC member, Andrew Little, with Clodagh Wilson, Lisnaskea second and Lorna Graham, Kesh, third.
The top treasurer was announced as Gillian Henderson, Kesh; with Graham Crawford, Lisbellaw, second and Stephen Lucy, Derrygonnelly, third.
The top public relations officer went to Beverley Henderson, of Kesh, with Jamie Johnston, Lisbellaw in second place.
The other big awards on the night were the results of the Young Farmer of the Year competition.
The joint county secretaries, Lorna Graham and Becky Brunt announced that the Senior Ulster Young Farmer of the Year awards were Jayne Little and Trevor Wilson, both members of Lisbellaw YFC.
In the junior category, the winners were Julie Stinson, Derrygonnelly and Gareth Mayers, Lisbellaw.
Adam Wilson and Jason Sproule announced the winners of the Members of the Year awards. The winners were Jack McFarland, Kesh(junior) and Stephen Lucy, Derrygonnelly(senior).
Among the guests was Martyn Blair, Deputy President of the YFCU who praised the county for their support to Headquarters and encouraged them in the organisation's drive increase membership. He said they had launched new members' benefit packages and they aim to broaden the scheme.
Among the guests were Mr. Seamus McAlinney, Principal, Enniskillen Campus of CAFRE and his wife, Marie and Mr. David Brown, Trustee of the Vaughan Trust and his wife, Mary.
