A local historian with links to the Clogher Valley will be the guest speaker at the opening of the Augher Co-op Food Hall on the opening night of the Clogher Valley Show.

This year's guest is Mr. Michael Fisher, who is retired from RTE and is now the Chairman of the Carleton Summer School. Each year, the launch of the Food Hall is a great success, with those in attendance including judges, chief stewards, representatives of local hotels, restaurants and local food retailers. In association with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Mr. Brian McDermott, Community Chef from BBC Radio Foyle will be in attendance during Show Day. He is expected to attract a large number of people and will be assisted in cooking tasty dishes by students from the three secondary schools in the Clogher Valley area.

The Food Hall will also have a wide selection of products available for sampling and for sale from specialist meats to cakes and jams, local cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables.
