Among early visitors to this year's Fermanagh County Show yesterday, Wednesday was Show Princess Ellen Bailey.

The 18-year-old from Derrygonnelly is studying science at South West College and is due to go into the second year of her A level studies in September.

A member of Derrygonnelly Young Farmers' Club for about five years, Ellen was selected for the 2012 Fermanagh Show Princess title at the YFC dance in Squire's, Enniskillen on Tuesday evening. Although she was surprised when her name was called out, Ellen is delighted to have been chosen and regards it as a lovely honour.

Hailing from a farming background, the teenager says she enjoys helping out on the family farm at home.

A daughter of David and Valerie Bailey, she has a sister Victoria and a brother Blane.
