Alan Veitch's Reserve Champion Calf at the Summer Spectacular, held at Balmoral Show grounds.

Fermanagh commercial breeder, Alan Veitch from Lisbellaw, took the Reserve Calf Championship at this year's Summer Spectacular Show organised by the NI Commercial Cattle Exhibitors Club s at Balmoral, Belfast.

Over 100 of Ulster's finest calves, steers and heifers competed for the generous prize fund, with Fermanagh breeders well represented in the honours list.

Alan Veitch, took the Reserve Calf Championship with his Charolais bull calf "Bobby Dazzler". This eye catching son of Fury Action later paired up with his team mate "Eye Candy" to secure the Pairs Championship at the event.

There is always great interest in the Dunbia Butcher's Heifer Championship, which was judged this year by Sam Carmichael. Standing top of the line in this championship was Ryan Law with a well fleshed heifer entered by Gerry Law, Kesh. This well made heifer was 575 kilos on show morning and is bred from a Limousin bull and out of a blue cow.
