Trillick YFC has just held its annual meeting with new office-bearers elected and a review of a successful year.

Club secretary, Rachel Gibson presented her report of the clubs activities and achievements since the 2013 AGM. Among the highlights were the 50th anniversary season which began with a balloon launch and incuded a 50th Anniversary Dinner Dance at the Manor House Hotel where special guests were YFCU president, Martyn Blair and his wife Barabara; former YFCU General Secretary, Pam Robinson and her husband Billy and Hazel McCay, author of our 50th anniversary Book ‘Golden Memories’, and her husband Robert.

The new committee was elected as follows – President – Dianne Elliott Vice presidents – Pauline Armstrong, Valerie Crozier, Harold McKinley, Helena Thompson, Florence Barrett, Sandra Robinson, Elizabeth Henderson, Billy Funston, Billy Gray, Norman Kee, George Henderson, Derek Edgar, David Armstrong, David Bleakley Club Leader – Mark Gibson; Assistant – Timothy Keys Secretary – Lauren Vance; Assistant Sec – Matthew Clements.

Treasurer – Gareth Deazley; Assistant Treasurer – Aaron Crozier.

PRO – Holly Vance; Assistant PRO– Emma Weir.

Andrew congratulated everyone on the new posts and it was agreed that the change-over will take place after our 50th Anniversary Charity Event, ‘500 miles for 50 years’ at Omagh Show. Since the AGM the Club have achieved further success at the 2014 Tyrone County Efficiency Awards when Trillick was judged second top Club. Congratulations were sent to Shannen Vance who was judged top Club Leader, Rachel Gibson, runner up in the secretary competition, Gareth Deazley, third in the Treasurer’s section and Lauren Vance, Junior member of the Year.

Club Members are looking forward to the next events of their 50th Anniversary Season – a ‘Cops and Robbers’ Disco on April 12, Friends and Supporters Night on April 22, a community ‘Wet Knock Out on May 23and our Charity Event in July.
