Students from the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE), who are currently studying the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management, recently visited Laurel View Equestrian Centre, Co. Antrim to consider the importance of Business Management, writes Ruth Moore, Lecturer, CAFRE Enniskillen Campus.

On arrival the students and staff were warmly welcomed by the proprietors, Robert and Linda Davis and Chief Instructor/Manager, Laurel Faloona. Robert Davis has Fermanagh connections.

The students were given an extensive tour of the facilities that are available at the equestrian centre and gained very valuable views and advice on business management within an equine environment. Equine business management covers a wide range of skills including human resource management, management of the physical resources within the business, marketing and financial management. A lot of information was gained from the visit which will be invaluable to the students as they complete their projects related to the business management module that they are currently studying.

The impressive facilities and dedicated staff at Laurel View Equestrian Centre contribute to an equine centre which provides a top class service for all their customers.
