The farming and property pages are busy with notices of land lettings around the county as there is particular interest this year with the new arrangements claiming entitlements.

At one of the biggest lettings of land by public auction on Saturday, Auctioneer, Gordon Robinson, conducted the letting of around 400 acres of farmland at different farms with 13 lots in total in the Enniskillen, Bellanaleck and Florencecourt areas.

The land was let on a yearly basis with the opportunity to take it for a five year term. All entitlements will be claimed by the tenant.

The land was let this year for prices from £190 to £310 per acre with an average of £265 per acre.

Gordon Robinson stated: “There is unbelievable interest this year and there is great demand.” Many farmers with high entitlement values are believed to be seeking the extra land to spread the entitlement values over.

With the full value of entitlements worth 133 euros per acre(329 euros per hectare) in seven years time, farmers are prepared to spend to have the land at their disposal.

Gordon Robinson also remarked on keen interest in buying land of all quality this year.
