Mrs. Margaret Patricia (Peggy) Crawford passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at the South West Acute Hospital, after a long illness.

Peggy, who was the eldest of three children, was born on July 17, 1933, to the late William Thomas and Mary Ann Lindsay, Drumageever, Letterbreen.

She attended school at Mullaghdun and after finishing her education went to work at several local farmhouses engaging in what was very hard and challenging work both in the houses and out on the farms.

In 1956 Peggy married the late James Crawford from Lisbellaw and they set up home on the family farm at Tattymacall where they raised their family.

In 1977 the family moved to 11 Queen’s Park, Lisbellaw. Peggy was a hard-working and dedicated wife and mother.

Sadly, on July 7, 1994, her husband James passed away peacefully at home after a long period of declining health through which Peggy nursed him faithfully night and day.

Peggy had a great interest in her church throughout her life and was diligent in sending all of her children out to Sunday School every Sunday. During a tent mission in Lisbellaw Peggy surrendered her life to Christ and became a born again Christian.

She faithfully attended her church twice every Sunday and also the prayer meeting on a Tuesday night as well as numerous other meetings.

She had enjoyed good health up until June 2012 when she suffered the first of many severe strokes and subsequently spent a lot of her last three years either in hospital or at home where she required 24-hour care, which was provided by her devoted family and local care agencies.

Her funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 13 at the Independent Methodist Church, Tempo Road, Enniskillen and was conducted by the Rev. William Park. The hymns were ‘I have decided to follow Jesus,’ ‘The Old Rugged Cross’ and ‘Nearer My God To Thee.’ The organist was Mrs. Helen Park.

Peggy is survived by her ten children and their spouses, 30 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband James in 1994, her brother William in 1979 and her sister Olive (Mrs. Coalter, Ballinamallard) in 2012.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by S. R. Elliott and Sons, Darling Street, Enniskillen.
