Helen, the second born child of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Flanagan, of 23 Henry Street, Enniskillen, passed away peacefully on May 26 after a short illness in Aberdeen, Scotland.

On leaving Mount Lourdes Convent School in 1947 Helen joined the Imperial Civil Service and moved to reside with family relatives in Wishaw, Lanarkshire. She met and married work colleague James Corrigan on December 26, 1956. Shortly afterwards the happy couple bought their home in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire where they spent the rest of their lives together, and raised their family.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Jimmy who died suddenly in 1993, her parents Joe and Josephine, sisters Rosaleen Morrison, Frances Mulligan and Kathleen Quinn.

She is survived by her children Michael and Peter and only daughter Pauline, who took such good care of her Mum in latter years, and seven grandchildren in Australia, England and Scotland. Helen’s baby brothers Joe and Seamus still live in Enniskillen with their wives Sheila and Bridie.

The family thanks everyone who sent cards or offered kind words of sympathy.

The sacrifice of Mass was offered for all their intentions at St. Gabriels Retreat, The Graan, on July 29, 2015.
