The death has occurred on August 26, 2015 of Vera Robinson of 121 Killyliss Road, Lisboy, Fivemiletown.

She was born on October 22, 1932 and lived all her life at Lisboy.

Vera had one brother Bertie who predeceased her in 1977. Vera attended Coolrakelly Primary School, Tattykeeran Church and Sunday School and Colebrooke Church.

In 1952 she married Jim Robinson from Carntall, Clogher. Jim set up home with Vera at Lisboy where they opened a country shop; they both worked there until their retirement. They loved to see customers coming to do their shopping and have a chat.

Vera and Jim celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in April 2002. Sadly Jim passed away in August 2006 aged 82.

Vera liked gardening, writing letters and always looked forward to having friends and neighbours call for a chat.

Vera had three children, Cyril, Trevor and Stella, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

She was a faithful attender of St. Ronan’s Church, Colebrooke, when she was able, but failing health meant she couldn’t attend during these last few years. In 2007 she had major heart surgery in Dublin. She recovered well after that for six years but during these last two years her health was in decline. Her peaceful death took place in South West Acute Hospital. Her generous and loving presence will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Her funeral service, held in St. Ronan’s Church, Colebrooke, was conducted by Canon Maurice Armstrong. The hymns were: Abide with Me, Shall We Gather at the River and Safe in the Arms of Jesus. Burial was in the adjoining churchyard.

Vera is survived by her sons Cyril and Trevor and her daughter Stella, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and the wider family circle. She was predeceased by her husband Jim and her brother Bertie.

The funeral directors were Ian McCutcheon and Son, Clabby.
