Mr. Andrew Humphreys, a well-known and highly regarded figure at Devenish College for many years, passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2015, aged 54 years. Andy, as he was always known, had only been unwell for a couple of weeks prior to his passing, which occurred peacefully in South West Acute Hospital. News of his death has been met with much shock and sadness among family, friends and people of all ages.

A native of Kinawley, Andy was born on July 4, 1961, a son of the late Stanley and the late Mae. He was one in a family of 11: Kathleen; the late Gretta; Monica; Jean; Alma; Sonia; Fiona; the late John; Noel; and Ronnie.

He was educated at Stragowna School, Kinawley, followed by Enniskillen High School, where he was educated until June 1979. He subsequently took up a position in September 1979 as an art and craft technician at Enniskillen High School, later Devenish College, and he remained there until 2013. A very popular figure among both staff and pupils, his association with the school spanned the best part of 40 years - taking in both his years as a pupil and as a member of staff. He took an active interest in the annual pantomime, working on the scenery.

Following Devenish College, he joined the staff of the Westville Hotel, Enniskillen, where his wife Ann currently works, and he worked there until his passing.

Andy married Ann, formerly Cassidy, from Enniskillen, in April 1995 and they set up home in Kinawley.

His interests included being very talented at decorating and he was a great handiman, affectionately known as 'Handy Andy.' He particularly excelled in woodwork.

A very loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews, he is remembered as being 'full of fun' and his death came as a major shock.

Andy's widely attended funeral service, reflecting the high regard felt for him, took place at St. Paul's Church, Kinawley, and burial was at Cross Cemetery, Enniskillen.

He is survived by his wife Ann, his brothers and sisters, the wider family circle, his many friends and neighbours. His wife Ann is very thankful for all the support received at this difficult time. The Funeral Directors were S.R. Elliott and Sons, Darling Street, Enniskillen.
