Mr. Robert Hugh Dundas of Rooskey House, Roosky, Enniskillen, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2015, at his residence after a brief illness, aged 92 years.

Robert, who held the British Empire Medal, was born on May 11, 1923, at the Coagh, Enniskillen, the only child of the late John and Elizabeth Jane Dundas, formerly Gardiner. He started his early education at Moyglass Primary School, Springfield, later to gain employment with McLaughlin and Harvey for a period before entering the Northern Ireland Forestry Department in October 1950 as a career.

He married Annie Elizabeth Jane Doughtery from Ballintra, Co. Donegal, in September 1948 and set up home, after purchasing Roosky in 1952 with their young son. His dear wife passed away in December 1982. It was at this low point in his life when he accepted the Lord as his personal saviour.

In his early years he had served in the Ulster Home Guard and later the Ulster Special Constabulary in County Fermanagh. He enjoyed gardening and especially when visiting the gardens of large Scottish estates while on holiday with his family and in particular visiting the Dundas's of Arniston House, Gorebridge.

Robert retired from the Forestry Service in June 1987 and was awarded in the Queen's Birthday Honours List - the British Empire Medal.

He is survived by his son, John, at Roosky and daughter-in-law Tina, much loved grandson John-Ross and granddaughter Clare.

There was a Thanksgiving Service in celebration of Robert's life, attended by a large gathering at Enniskillen Independent Methodist Church and burial took place at the family plot, Inishmacsaint Graveyard. The service was conducted by the Rev. William Park.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by W.T. Morrison, Darling Street, Enniskillen.
