The death has taken place in Kesh of Ian Vance. He was born in Paisley, Scotland, son of the late Willie Vance (Ederney) and Margaret Vance née Dempster (Paisley).

Ian was born on September 2, 1936, and grew up in Paisley and Johnston, Scotland. At the age of 10 he returned with his parents to Ederney, Co. Fermanagh.

He continued his education here and then worked in the family business. 
After his marriage to Evelyn Graham, Laghey, Co. Donegal, on February 18, 1959, they moved and lived in various places in England and then returned to Portrush where they ran a guest house. They moved back to Fermanagh and retired in Kesh.

Ian passed away on August 20, 2016. He was cremated at Roselawn crematorium on August 25, 2016 after a service conducted by Canon Henry Blair in the presence of his family and friends. His ashes and that of his late wife Evelyn, who died on July 16, 2011, were buried together in Ardess cemetery, Kesh.

Ian is survived by his daughter Caroline, son in law Norman Anderson, grandchildren Robert and Rachel, son John, daughter in law Karen Vance, grandchildren Matthew and Megan and great granddaughter Georgie.
The funeral arrangements were by Funeral Directors F.G. McFarland and Sons, Kesh.
