Mr. George E. N. Morrison

The death of George E. N. Morrison, late of 22 Lakeview, Lisnaskea, took place at the Erne Hospital, Enniskillen on December 22, 2009, after a short illness.

He is survived by his sister-in-law Irene and his nephew Alan and niece Anne. He was a much loved great uncle to Amy and Edward Morrison and Carla, Zoe and Jamie Rafferty.

He was educated at Portora Royal School with many anecdotes to tell about school life in the 1950s. After leaving school he joined H.M. Customs and Excise and served most of his career as an officer throughout England, Scotland and Wales. He then returned to Northern Ireland and served as Staff Officer in Belfast, Londonderry, Aughnacloy, Omagh and Enniskillen among other places.

He was hugely interested in local history, photography, shooting and fishing and in everything to do with Lough Erne.

His burial took place on Christmas Eve at Holy Trinity Church, Lisnaskea. Funeral arrangements were by F. Dowler Ltd.

Donations if desired to the Elderly Patients Comforts Fund, Erne Hospital, Enniskillen, through F. Dowler Ltd., Main Street, Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh.
