A native of Co. Fermanagh, George Hall passed away suddenly at his home in Ayr, Canada on Monday, May 31, 2010 in his 86th year.
George was born in Letterbreen and emigrated to Canada in 1952. He lived in Scarborough for many years and moved to Ayr in 1993.
Although he worked very hard as a driver for the Toronto Transit Commission for 35 years, George felt most at home with a spade or a shovel in his hands. He remained an Irish farmer at heart, and was known for the exceptional care he took in maintaining his lawn, hedges and gardens. He was never happier than when he was out in the fresh air putting in a good day's work, particularly if that work was helping family or friends.
The beloved husband of Joan (nee McCourt), he was a loving dad to Arlene LeCrom (Robert), Mark (June), Joyce Lewis (Grant) and Janice Weiler (Rich). A cherished Grandpa to Jacqueline and Nicole Lewis, Ben, Glen, John, and Dan Hall, and Tristan Weiler, he had been a dear brother to Florrie, Margaret and Tommy in Northern Ireland. George is also survived by many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Ireland. He was predeceased by his sister Irene, and brothers John, Ernie, and Edwin.
At George's request there will be no service. Interment will be in the Ayr Cemetery.
