The death took place on July 8, 2010 of Mr. Noel Christopher Clarke, late of Loane Drive, Chanterhill, Enniskillen.
Noel was born at Infirmary Road, Dublin on November 30, 1944. A son of the late William and Mary Clarke, he attended St. Gabriel's School in Dublin.
After leaving school, Noel went to England to work as a builder's labourer.
In 1962, Noel joined the 16/5 Lancers and was stationed in Germany where he was trained as a chef. His regiment was then transferred to Omagh and it was there that he met his future wife Anne Graham.
They were married on January 22, 1975 and went to live in Germany.
When Noel was discharged from the army, he and Anne made their home at 72 Loane Drive, Chanterhill.
Noel went to work at Unipork until it closed. He then had a job in the Erne Hospital as a chef, and later as security in the Inland Revenue office until his health deteriorated and he had to retire.
Noel's pasttime was reading, which he had a great passion for, and always said "that's where he received his education".
On a Saturday Noel loved to take his boxer dog Quincy into town for a walk and meet up with his work colleagues to watch football.
Noel loved watching detective and cowboy films, especially later on when he became very ill and was not able to go out of the house.
Throughout his illness Noel was cared for by his wife Anne. They were so devoted to each other that wherever you saw one you saw the other.
The funeral service took place at St. Macartin's, Enniskillen, conducted by the Rev. Betty Thompson and afterwards at Cross Cemetery, where members of the Royal British Legion paid tribute to Noel.
Noel will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and neighbours.
Noel is survived by his wife Anne; his brother William; sisters Imelda and Irene; brothers-in-law Joe and Jimmy and nephews and nieces in Dublin.
He leaves his brothers-in-law Ken and Cecil Graham; sisters-in-law Avril, Lilah and Valerie and nephews and nieces.
The funeral arrangements were carried out in a very dignified and professional manner by W.T. Morrison, funeral directors, Darling Street, Enniskillen, with flowers from the family only. All other donations went to Arthritis Care, c/o W.T. Morrison.
