The peaceful passing occurred in the Erne Hospital, Enniskillen, on Saturday, November 5, 2011, of a much loved son, brother and uncle, Mr. Ernest Collum, late of Drumsillagh, Letterbreen.

Born on October 1, 1925, a son of the late Robert and Florence Collum, he received his education at Moybane School. After leaving school, he took up employment as a farm labourer with William Henry Elliott and then John Archie Reid. He then went to work at Florence Court for Lord Enniskillen and later at Castle Coole for Lord Belmore. In 1960, he purchased a farm at Trillick, Letterbreen, which he farmed until his passing.

One of Ernest's interests was going to social functions, where he enjoyed good food, good music and a good dance. He was a member of the loyal orders, and served for many years in the security forces.

The funeral took place from the family home to Mullaghdun Church of Ireland for the service, conducted by the Rev. Geoffrey Bridle. Burial took place in the adjoining churchyard. Ernest is survived by his brothers Richard and Fred. He was predeceased by his brothers William, John, Ivan and sister Florence. The funeral arrangements were by Austen Stinson, W.T. Morrison, funeral directors, Darling Street, Enniskillen.
