Austyn Andrew Loane, the eldest son of the late Matthew and Marion Loane, passed away on March 12, 2012. His death followed a short illness of cancer, which he bore with great courage. Born on January 13, 1941, he was the eldest of five children, Thelma, Laura, Ruth and the late Roger.

Austyn attended Kesh Primary School and then progressed to Portora Royal School in Enniskillen. After leaving school he went into the family business. On meeting and later marrying his late wife, Noelle, in 1969, they set up home at Rosscolban, Kesh to farm. They then moved to Muckross, extended their lands and began dairy farming. Twenty years later, LoanEden Caravan Park was established at Muckross. This was a testimony to both their personalities. He loved people and his business kept him in touch with those locally and further afield.

LoanEden was Austyn's life. He was not insensitive to those in difficulty and was known for his generous spirit. Austyn had many interests including motor sport, horse eventing and supporting animal charities. He took great pride in his late son Andrew's and also his daughter Victoria's achievements in show jumping.

Austyn was a lifelong member of Drumkeeran Parish Church. The service on March 15 was conducted by Archdeacon Pringle and readings were delivered by Derek McCrudden and Mary-Anne Murray. The interment was at Magheraculmoney Parish Churchyard, next to his late wife, Noelle.

The late Austyn Loane is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Victoria. He will be sadly missed by her and three sisters, Thelma, Laura and Ruth and the family circle.

The funeral arrangements were by F.G. McFarland and Sons, Kesh.
