Mrs. Sadie Gill

Mrs.Sadie Gill, a much loved mother, grandmother, sister and sister-in-law late of Burnside Park, Enniskillen passed away in South West Acute Hospital after a short illness on July 6 2012 aged 84 years.

Formerly Ferris of Newtate, Florencecourt, she was a daughter of The late William and Jane Ferris who had a family of four sons and two daughters. Three of her brothers predeceased Sadie. In May 1949 aged 22, Sadie went to Huddersfield to join her brother Hammie and find work. It was there she met her future husband Harry whom she married in 1951 and they were blessed with one daughter Andrea. In 1977 Andrea and her husband Roy emigrated to Australia and Sadie and Harry paid many visits to Australia over the years.

After the sudden death of Harry, Sadie decided to return to Ireland where she made her home at Burnside Park where she lived very happily and had a good social life and enjoyed shopping and her weekly outings to bingo at Fermanagh Unionist Club and The Royal British Legion where she had a wide circle of friends. In 2006 Sadie was involved in a serious car accident where she sustained bad injuries which left her with a restricted lifestyle which she borne bravely and without complaint. She always had a smile for visitors and her carers were her friends and they gave her first class care as did her GP, Dr. Meade and Lakeside Medical Practice, the Erne Hospital and South West Acute Hospital.

Sadie's funeral Service took place in St John's Church, Florencecourt and was conducted by the Rev. Ivan Reuters. Family members took part in the sevice and her daughter Andrea read a very moving tribute written by Sadie's grand-daughter Skye in Australia.

Sadie is survived by her daughter Andrea; son-in-law Roy; grandchildren Finlay, Sean and Skye, a brother Hammie sister Betty and sisters in law, nieces and nephews and the wider family circle. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Austen Stinson of W.T. Morrison, Funeral Directors, Darling Street, Enniskillen.
