Mr. Cecil Carson passed away suddenly at the South West Acute Hospital on September 4, 2012. Cecil was born on December 21, 1938, the youngest and last surviving member of his family.

His parents were the late Robert and Sarah Carson, Derryvullen, Tamlaght. Cecil was educated at the local primary school and later went on to serve his time as a motor mechanic in Lochside Garage.

Having spent the first part of his working life there he moved to the UDR/RIR Vehicle Repair Centre at Grosvenor Barracks, Coleshill, where he remained until his retirement in 2003.

He also had a great interest in motorbikes and spending the weekends touring about on his Triumph Tiger Cub. Cecil also enjoyed horse racing, travelling to various venues enjoying the day's sport.

As Cecil's health deteriorated he became a resident at the County Care Home, where he remained until his sudden death.

His funeral service took place in Derryvullan Parish Church. The service was led by the Rev. Canon J. Stewart.

Cecil is survived by his nephews John, Susan and family, John, Myrtle and family and niece Isobel, Jim and family.
