The passing occurred peacefully at the South West Acute Hospital in the early hours of New Year’s Day, 2014, of Mrs. Rebecca Coulter, also affectionately known as Becky. Born on October 26, 1930, she was the eldest daughter of a farmer James Sheridan and his wife Margaret of Tromagagh, Florencecourt, and she was educated at Marlbank school. She spent her childhood years helping on the family farm.

Following the death of her father, the family moved to and settled in the Clabby area. She worked as a cook in Colebrooke House for many years and later at the Housewife’s Choice, Enniskillen.

She met her husband Herbie Coulter, who also worked at Colebrooke Estate, and they married in August 1958. They made their home at Tattykeeran, Tempo where she helped in the running of the family farm. They had a son Francis.

She looked forward to the summer going to the bog to bring home turf and working at the hay. She cared for an elderly uncle and an elderly neighbour. She attended and supported many social events. She loved company, and she was in the Women’s Orange Lodge, the Mothers’ Union and she was a weekly attender at Tempo Parish Church. Her husband died suddenly in 1990 and Rebecca took over the running of the family farm with Francis.

In later years she found companionship with Herbie Trimble. She continued to attend and take an interest in social events and visiting friends. She enjoyed the company of visitors to her home, had a warm welcome for them, and always had a table spread.

Her health deteriorated in 2009. She survived to meet her three grandchildren to whom she brought many happy moments. Throughout her health problems, she kept the same kindness and pleasantness of spirit that was so much part of her. She was predeceased by her brother Jim and husband Herbie. She is survived by her three sisters Peggy (Clogher), Florrie (Brookeborough) and Emily (Fivemiletown) and by her son Francis, daughter-in-law Beverley and grandchildren Ashley, Stuart and Clare. The funeral arrangements were by funeral director Ian McCutcheon, Clabby.
