The death has taken place of Mr. James McKenzie, affectionately known as Jim, late of Ballyreagh, Tempo. His passing, at the age of 81, occurred peacefully at South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen, on March 12, 2014, after a short illness.

Jim was born at Ballyreagh, a son of the late John and Edith McKenzie. One in a family of five, his brothers Percy and Joseph McKenzie are the only two surviving siblings. Jim was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth, who died in infancy at the age of six weeks, and his brother Robert passed away in 2013.

Jim worked as a lorry driver for 38 years and he drove all over Ireland and parts of the UK. He was retired about 10 years, and he helped out on the family farm.

A vintage tractor enthusiast, Jim enjoyed restoring vintage tractors and showing them. He also liked travelling and holidays.

His funeral service, which was held in Tempo Presbyterian Church, was conducted by the Rev. Charles Clements.

The hymns were: There is a Green Hill Far Away; Abide With Me; and The Day Thou Gavest Lord has Ended. Burial took place at Tempo Presbyterian Churchyard.

Jim is immediately survived by his brothers, Percy and Joseph, Ballyreagh. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Margaret (Percy’s wife), and his nephew Jason, the wider family circle and his friends. The funeral arrangements were by funeral directors, S.R. Elliott and Sons, Darling Street, Enniskillen.
