The death occurred peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, of Mrs. Sally Crawford, late of Bellanaleck and formerly of Mullaghgarrow, Kinawley.

A much loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, Sally was born on August 25, 1932 and lived at the family home near Kinawley throughout her childhood. She attended Stragowna School and following her school days went to the Isle of Man with her sister Margaret.

She spent some years there working in hotels on the island. She then returned home and later met William Thomas Crawford (Tom) whom she married in 1957. They went on to live in Mullaghgarrow where Sally concentrated on helping on the farm and raising her five children.

Sadly in August 1976 Tom died of ill health. Sally remained in the homestead and the Kinawley area up until the early 80s and then moved to Enniskillen to live with her daughter Carol until November 2003. Following the sudden death of her daughter she moved to Bellanaleck.

Sally was a family centred person and enjoyed the family, friends and neighbours who frequently visited and throughout the difficult times in life she appreciated their support. Due to deterioration in health, Sally moved to Millcroft Nursing Home in October 2008 and was cared for there until her passing on April 23, 2014.

The funeral service and thanksgiving for Sally’s life was in St. Paul’s Church, Kinawley on Friday, April 25, 2014. The service was conducted by the Rev. Geoffrey Bridle and Rev. John Woods.

The hymns, “Safe in the arms of Jesus,” “Abide with me” and “The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended” were led by organist Miss Beatrice Crawford. Sally’s grandson Mark Crawford read a passage from the Bible and her grand-daughter Diane Coulter spoke of the memories on behalf of all the grandchildren.

The address was by the Rev. Bridle, and the committal took place in Derrylin Parish churchyard followed by a cup of tea in the parish hall.

Sally is survived by her son Freddie, wife Margaret; daughter Lettie, husband Kenny; Son George, wife Linda; son Geoffrey, wife Maureen; grandchildren Mark, Diane, Louise, Gary, Karen, Charlene and great-grandchildren Emily and Ella. She also leaves her sisters Margaret and Kathleen.

The family are thankful for all expressions of sympthy and donations received in lieu will go to Cancer Connect.

The funeral arrangements were by Funeral Directors W. T. Morrison (Austen Sinson), Enniskillen.
