A native of Fermanagh, Miss Ruth Liddle died on August 15, 2014, at the Alive Hospice, Patterson Street Nashville, Tennessee.

Born on June 19, 1924, she was the second child and first daughter of the late Col. G.E. Liddle and Mrs J. Liddle, Chanterhill Road, Enniskillen.

Ruth was educated at The Model School, Enniskillen and the Fermanagh Technical College. She took secretarial courses and learned to play the piano.

During World War II, Ruth served as a secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and after the war she was secretary to Miss Kidd in the Fermanagh County Hospital.

After she emigrated to the USA, she became secretary to the International Director of the Gideons for 30 years, first in Chicago and then in Nashville, Tennessee, where she died.

The funeral took place at the Hermitage Memorial Gardens and was officiated by the Rev. Keith Cameron of Lakewood Baptist Church, Nashville, Tennessee.

Ruth is survived by her brother Noel in Florida and sister Miriam in Suffolk.
