The death has taken place peacefully at South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen, of Florence Linda Stubbs, best known as Linda, late of Tamlaght.

Her death on December 4, 2014, aged 51 years, followed a three years’ illness, courageously borne. She had previously enjoyed good health.

Formerly Linda Moffitt, she was born and raised in Derrylester, near Florencecourt, an only daughter of Eileen and Stanley Moffitt.

She was educated at Stragowna Primary School, followed by Enniskillen High School.

She started off working in the Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown, and then worked in Enniskillen and Belcoo Police Stations, where she was involved in catering.

She met and married Ivan Stubbs and they made their home at Tamlaght and raised a family of two, Janine and Stuart.

Linda continued to work until her first child was born.

She was very dedicated to her home and family, which were of tremendous importance to her, and she had also been very house proud.

Among her interests were music and she had been in Tamlaght Women’s Institute.

Over the years she maintained a keen involvement in her family church, St. Augustine’s Parish Church, Swanlinbar, where she used to play the organ. She had been a Sunday School teacher there for a time, and helped out at events.

During her illness, Linda never complained and she bore it with a smile. She was an inspiration to her family, the wider family circle and her friends.

Her funeral service at Swanlinbar Parish Church was conducted by the Rev. John Woods and Captain Richard Beadle.

The hymns, chosen by Linda, were: There is a Redeemer, In Christ Alone, and The Lord is My Shepherd.

Her daughter Janine paid a tribute to her mother at the service and made reference to how proud the family were of her.

Burial was at Swanlinbar Parish Churchyard, which holds a special place for the family; Linda was baptised, confirmed and married at the church.

Linda is survived by her husband Ivan, daughter Janine and son Stuart. She leaves her parents Stanley and Eileen Moffitt; aunts, uncles, cousins and the wider family circle.

The family is thankful for all the medical and nursing care received by Linda.

The funeral arrangements were by Funeral Directors, S.R. Elliott and Sons, Darling Street, Enniskillen.
