Two well-known Fermanagh men received Honorary degrees from the University of Ulster at a graduation ceremony at its Coleraine campus on Tuesday.
Fr. Brian D"Arcy, who has worked tirelessly to promote religious understanding throughout Ireland, received the degree of Doctor of Letters (DLitt). He received his degree in recognition of his services to the promotion of religious understanding.
While Fr. Brian received his degree in the morning ceremony, it was in the afternoon that actor Adrian Dunbar also received the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (DLitt), in recognition of his services to acting.
An acclaimed actor, he has starred in leading films such as My Left Foot, The Crying Game and The General. His recent television roles have included Ashes to Ashes.
The two Fermanagh men were among students from the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences and the Faculty of Computing and Engineering receiving their degrees and certificates on Tuesday. In all, 500 students were honoured.
