Several thousand members of the Royal Black Institution step out in Kesh on Saturday for the traditional mid-August demonstration in Fermanagh.
The hosts will be Tubrid Royal Marksmen RBP No. 1235 and the village will be set to host thousands of spectators.
Local people will be joined by many holidaymakers staying in the area.
The Fermanagh County Grand Master of the Royal Black Institution, Wor. Sir Knight Hazlett Moore, said that apart from the local preceptories in the county, they will be welcoming visiting Sir Knights from the Border counties of Cavan and Monaghan and South Donegal as well as a number from Tyrone and possibly Co. Antrim.
Those taking part will assemble in a field at Drumnarullagh on the Kesh to Ederney Road between 10.30am and 12.30pm with the procession moving off at 1pm from the assembly field and into the lower end of the village before they turn left towards Enniskillen Road. They will then turn into Mantlin Road where the demonstration field is sited. The religious meeting will start at 2pm.
The resolutions will be ready by the Sovereign Grand Master of the Royal Black Institution, Sir Knight Millar Farr and the address will be given by the former head of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland, the Rev. Martin Smyth.
Sir Knight Moore said the Institution remains very strong in terms of membership in the county.
Now in his third year as County Grand Master, he said, “We are a Christian organisation and we are not talking politics. We talk the Bible.”
