Scratch card thief jailed for nine months

A 20-year-old man who broke into a shop and stole a display stand containing National Lottery scratch cards has been jailed for nine months.

Daryl Kennedy, of Galliagh Park, Enniskillen, will spend a further nine months on licence upon his release from Hydebank Wood Young Offenders' Centre.

Kennedy appeared at Omagh Crown Court and pleaded guilty to breaking into the Craigville Spar Shop on January 9, last year, and stealing a display of National Lottery scratch cards.

He also admitted damaging a door belonging to Alexander Beatty for which he was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, to run concurrently with the nine-month sentence for burglary.
