Fermanagh's opening National Football League game against London has been called off due to heavy overnight snow in the capital.

The game was scheduled to commence at 1.00pm in Ruislip on Sunday.

This has made for a frustrating weekend for players and supporters who travelled over on Saturday knowing that the forecast was not good.

Indeed, some supporters due to travel on Sunday morning had their flights cancelled as airlines correctly feared the worst.

The pitch survived a Saturday pitch inspection but the snow came in the evening time, leaving the Sunday morning decision a formality.

Fermanagh are due to play Clare at Brewster Park next Sunday but do not have a fixture for two weeks after that and the game could possibly be rescheduled for then.

Find out Peter Canavan's reaction to this frustrating start and a preview of the Clare game in Thursday's Impartial Reporter.
