A 28-year-old man seen kicking in the glass door of a chemist's shop for no apparent reason has been put on probation for 12 months.

Raymond John Hannon, of Mweelbane Road, Lack, was also ordered to pay £125 restitution.

A prosecutor told Fermanagh Court that on Monday, January 9, a member of staff at Kesh Pharmacy saw Hannon kick and smash the shop's glass door for no apparent reason. When police apprehended Hannon he was highly intoxicated.

Defence solicitor, Mr. Tommy Owens, said Hannon suffered from bi-polar disorder and a raft of addiction problems. He hadn't been taking his medication but had been taking alcohol and was on a "bit of a binge". It was an "act of stupidity".

Mr. Owens said that since the incident Hannon had been addressing his problems and been to the Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital addiction unit and the Community Addiction Team.
